Now that WOL brought up the clamp you may also take a look at the clamp location on the hose. It looks like its pretty high on the housing. The T-stat housing only has about a 1.5 -2 inch throat and if you have the clamp up and possibly over the lip you may have cracked it when you cranked it down tight. Make sure when you clamp it back it's down on the throat area. That way the clamp is putting pressure on the strongest part of the t-stat housing.
