What would you do different?

So I emailed Drew at EVO today. Finally got the funds sorted out and will be hopefully starting my dream build soon. Based on actual experiences, would you do anything different and why?

My build plans: 2013 JKU Sport
- EVO double throw down (f&r)
- EVO spec King Rock Stops (f&r)
- EVO high clearance long arm
- JKS quicker disconnects
- Pro Rock 60s (5.38, competition shafts, CTM, ARB, full float 60 rear, don't think I need a rear 80)
- PSC ram assist
- EVO high steer
- Atlas 2 speed t-case
- ATX Chamber Pro II
- Nitto 40s Trail Grappler K Spec
- EVO 1/4 pounder (already installed)
- Warn 9.5 CTI-S (already installed)
- EVO rear fascia (already installed)
- EVO Protek skids (already installed)
- Poison Spyder Extreme crossmember (already installed)
- Poison Spyder evap skid (already installed before EVO made theirs)
- SPOD

- EVO or Genright tire carrier (want EVO but then need corners also. I worry about the road salt in Idaho rusting them out)
- EVO or LOD Rock sliders.
- Rock Hard sport cage.
- EVO skins and corners, if I go with EVO tire carrier. Again worry about road salt.

So that is it. Been planning this since 2012 after I had to sell my last JK due to an unplanned medical retirement.

One of the best trips of my life was wheeling the Rubicon Trail with my Pops and the Wayalife crew.

Please offer any suggestions or recommendations.

Yeah, skip the JKS discos and look for a used Rubicon e-disco. Even if it's broken, you can still install an EVO No-Limits knob on it and it's a much better way to go. Skip the front air bumps and I would also skip the sPOD if only because the owner of the company is dishonest and has no integrity. But of course, that's just me and things like that still matter.

DTD in the front you won't need air bumps.

Also you can get the corners for the carrier in aluminum and they won't rust.

Since it seems $$ isn't an issue lol, I'd not do JKS and get a rubi sway bar WITHOUT the motor, and the EVO no limits disco for it. Makes disconnecting a simple turn of a dial! Don't have to worry about tying back the sway bar, or having to "force" the JKS back into place on level ground.

My buddy has the JKS, and I'm disconnected / reconnected in seconds while sometimes he struggles, especially if there's mud.

Oh and sweet build you have going! :thumb:

Edit: seems Eddie is faster at typing than me !

Eddie I know you mentioned another new company similar to the SPOD. Is that company fully going and what is the name again? Thanks

Also what's the best way to get a Rubicon sway bar disconnect. In North Idaho, I don't have many auto junk yards to go to.

You can find people on here Craigslist or eBay. I have a rubicon so don't need to look but these seem like the route to search for it

Switch Pros. I dont believe their product has hit retail yet but almost there. Someone recently posted an update in an another thread...perhaps the SEMA 2014 section.

For a daily driver I wouldn't go with the k spec tires. IMO they're not worth it if you're just gonna wear them out in the street. Looks like a nice build you've got planned tho.

I thought the Nitto 40 Trail Grappler was automatically a K-Spec. I didn't know there was an option?

Also just read the Switch Pros thread. Sounds great. Just need them to be released. Anyone know the release date?

I may be misinformed, but I thought k spec was an option. Someone more knowledgeable than I will chime in Im sure.

K spec is not standard. There is two options.

No date yet...
Response Mar 2:

Final testing is taking place now, and, assuming all is well, we can program, pot and begin shipping.

No actual date on when shipping will begin but hopefully all the issues are resolved and they will ship soon.

So who wants to sell me their Rubicon sway bar disconnects. Or those who live in So Cal, I'll help pay a finders fees if you locate one that I buy. :)

Build looks great!

I would definitely skip the K spec for a daily driver. From what I've heard, you'd be lucky to get 10,000mi out of them.

Three things I didn't list. Do I need the following:

1. EVO drag link flip kit?
2. EVO sector shaft brace
3. Adjustable track bars, and by who?

- Rock Hard sport cage.

Highly approve of this route :bleh:

Tell us a little more about your off roading style and trail plans. Of course I'd like to see you step more into Rock Hard 4x4 and maybe something we offer will suit you better than an option you are currently considering. Then again, if you have your heart set - hope to see you on a trail some day :)

Besides your Sport Cage, what other options would you recommend? I plan / hope / dream of doing everything you would see on a JKX trip or one of Eddie's videos. Yup.

With the build spec you listed on the first page, you will not need any of this.
