What was done to your rig this week?

New Battery... Found a great battery store near me that sells mostly Optima & Odyssey... The Last Odyssey Extreme didn't die but had 6 years on it... I asked them to run a test on the old one just for curiosity and it showed it was still ok but half the crank power... I think 6 years is good and I like the peace of mind of a new one if I'm out in the middle of nowhere alone.

The posts on the old one always seemed a bit small and I could never get it really tight... they definitely fixed the issue.. the new ones allow for a tight fit.

Years and years ago, Optima made good batteries but I'm no fan of them now. Odyssey, that's a different story altogether. Good on you for getting one and for a deal (y)

What did you put there? Mine are doing the same horribly. I’m about to just take them out as nothing I’ve put there worked.
Haha- just put a piece of a rag and folded up paper but will add a piece of rubber trim to fender when i get around to it but for now, it’s quiet and I’m good with that. I think you’ll be good putting anything that is not metal.

Installed the EVO corner guards today. Easy install until it came to the EVO license plate bracket. Unfortunately, it only works without the corner guards so I got to do some basic fabrication. Had to cut off the bracket that reached underneath the tub and then welded the rest directly to the corner guard. Definitely not Jeremy and Chad level welding but it’ll hold. 😎

nice work.

I have Rusty's brand which is similar, have had it out at least 6 times to install and chickened out each time when it comes to drilling the holes into the body.

Not too thrilled about inserting nutserts either (I do have the proper nutsert installer tool).

Thanks! I understand the reluctance but if you take the time to set it up it’ll be fine. Use a center punch, small pilot hole, step bit and then finish it up with the final size bit, it goes pretty smooth. 👍🏻
