Nothing with a factory motor. Maybe you’ll be okay since ford had them in the explorers with the 5.0.

Explorer 8.8 are a smidge stronger than the dana 44 for TJ's. There are definitely weaker ones though especially the older ones.

Maybe offer some pros/cons or a suitable alternative? I’d love to hear it.

That axle should be fine if it came out of an explorer. I wouldn't worry about it. Decent gearing too.

The explorer ones are stronger than the ranger ones. I broke a lot on my old 2WD ranger 8.8. I put an explorer 8.8 in and never had an issue.

As far as I know, there isn't one. But I can feel a lot of play in the carrier, so it may have been installed wrong.

Got sick and tired of smashing my muffler on the rocks and having to reopen it up. So I just cut it off. Temporary fix till I get a new muffler.

The whole thing is loose, so I'm going to pull it off, re-shim and re-torque. I am hoping that will fix it.

I have that same bumper. After a year I have worked most of the rattles out of it. Most of mine were coming from the loose weak latch it comes with.

Pulled the engine to do and head gasket and engine refresh of all the gaskets and a starting the engine bay clean up.

Over the last week I made the interior of the hardtop look like its should and sprayed it black. I used 5 cans of truck-bed liner. Came out quite nice. Lots of work prepping everything. Also knocked out the trim pieces while I was painting.

Haven’t had that much road time since. However the sound seams better in my opinion and it looks 100% better than white. Looking into a headliner next, maybe Homemade or hotheads. I’ll post back after a decent road trip.
