Weird steering noise

So pulling out of my driveway this morning in my ‘25 Rubicon X (six months old), my steering made a very noticeable knock/grind noise when turning both directions. It was still there at my destination when parking but slightly less noticeable. Any ideas? Absolutely nothing should be worn out this soon! Thx.

Not much to go on there. If it’s doing it today, have someone in the driver’s seat and have them steer back and forth. That’ll give you a chance to identify where it’s coming from. My guess is it’s your ball joints need to be retorqued. Stupid aluminum knuckles. But yeah, 6 months you shouldn’t have any worn out parts, well, unless you wheel it hard.

Take it to the dealer and make them figure it out under warranty. That’s what it’s for. If you can get a video of it for the technician it will help him diag it.

I bent the dust cover on my factory steering stabilizer which made a rubbing and grinding noise. But have the dealer check it out as your right nothing should be worn yet.

A knock could be something as simple as a loose track bar or drag link bolt. Grinding? Hard to say without hearing it. That said, I agree with the others, have your dealership give it a look and if nothing else, create a paper trail for the issue.

Got back from my trip yesterday and the temp was 70. Pulling out of the airport parking lot…..nothing, nada, zip the rest of the day. When this initially happened, it was about 40 degrees. This morning I went out to move it to do an oil change and it was back. Temp was around 50. I’m thinking the cold is doing something to the ball joints or something like that. It seems to be temperature dependent
