Wealth distribution in America...

there are millions of people in this country who are all for taking the wealthys hard earned money and simply handing it out to those who feel they "deserve" it. watch a political speech every now and then, full of "i'll give yous" and "you deserves"... My opinion you "deserve" what you earn and that is ALL!!!

If somebody gave you guys millions of dollars I doubt you would say no. That's why the lotto is as big as it is. ;)

i totally agree

I always watch those TV shows when they do the 'Where are they now' lotto edition. :cheesy:

Sad as it is some people can't handle it.

It really is sad but, they can't handle it because they didn't really earn it. When you've worked hard to earn it, it's a lot harder to spend it.

Someone giving you money and someone saying part of your pay is going to this person because you make more is not fair or right by any means ,nor do I see the comparison. I have busted my ass for what my family and I have, and I'll be damnned if I'm gonna give it to someone who wants to sit and watch the world go by. "Some people dream of success, while others get up every morning and work at it."

Well you do that any through taxes but thats a different story.

And I highly doubt anybody on this site is in the one percent and maybe very few if any who are in the top 20%. I sure as hell am not even remotely close and doubt I ever will be.

I think the lack of wealth distribution speaks more to the lack of work ethic amongst the people than anything else.

There are very few people who MAKE a lot of money without working very hard and the people you think are making easy money are probably working a lot harder than you could ever imagine.

^^^Yes we do and yes it is. Can't wait until all the states have a mandatory drug tests for everyone that wants to live off of everyone else's taxes. You have to test for a job and that should be no different.

But what's so cool about being in America is that you could be.

There's a guy named Do Won Chang, he came to America when he was 18, worked 3 jobs - a gas station attendant, a janitor and a busboy all at the same time. In 1984, he took the money he saved and opened his first clothing store in Highland Park, CA. Today, he now has over 450 stores nation wide and is estimated by Forbes to have a net worth of $4 billion. The clothing stores he owns is known as Forever 21. This is the American dream and with commitment and hard work, it is attainable. :yup:

Hoo-rah to wayalifes post!

Just work hard....pay your bills...pay your taxes and rear your children the best you can. Good things usually follow!

What I find interesting (and sad) is the actual distribution of wealth graphically shows why it's so easy to pass higher taxes on the wealthy. There simply are not near enough of them to get it voted it down. I think it's wrong to tax them higher than anyone else, it's a like a tax on success IMO. They are buying more expensive things and paying more in taxes already. If one doesn't like that others are so wealthy or well off, they are welcome to work harder to become one of them... but that's just me.
