Hi Everyone,
I'm the new (old) guy. I've wanted a Jeep for over 50 years, and it's finally happened. And to make a good thing better, I got it for ridiculously short money.
My new baby is an '87 YJ with 76K miles. 4.2L, 5-speed stick shift, Weber carb. It has a hardtop, but I also got a soft top with it. Stock height, and stock wheels and tires. Compression, brakes, and clutch are good, no leaks, and it runs pretty fair, nothing a tuneup won't cure. I have some rust issues, but the frame is solid. I've already cut out and replaced the rusty driver's and passenger's floorboards. This weekend, I'll be replacing the rear track bar and both brackets that hold it. (By the way, anyone who needs rear track bar brackets, talk to either Austin or Ben at Rusty's. They're the greatest.)
My jeep will be used as a daily driver, as well as liberal quantities of sand and mud thrown in the mix.
I'll be asking LOTS of questions in here. Meanwhile, I hope to see you out there.
Russ
