I just installed a Zeon XD10s a couple days ago. I wasn't that interested in the wireless Hub when I bought it. But... just yesterday I went out into the desert and preloaded the synthetic line. I used the remote cell phone Hub for part of the operation. I actually will probably use it some.
Back to your question: Yes, you can hard wire it. But should you? As a side note, I've wired almost all my old winches with those two way spring toggles on the dash. You could do this. But I doubt your going to get any support from Warn. So plan to walk away from your warranty. If you haven't done much dickering with electric motors and such, it's probably best to leave it be and get the new remote, which you need anyway. And I understand you wanting to have a backup system now, after being hung with no control. Everything on these winches is locked down. Gone are the good old days of jumper wiring a solenoid.
On a side note: I'm scratching my head on why Warn didn't set it up for remote cell phone access as well. I'm not bucking for anymore electronics by any means; but they started it so they might as well have taken the extra step.
My two cents... worth the price paid!
