After driving without a muffler on a Jeep Gladiator with a 3.6L V6 and for the better part of 3 years, the sound or more specifically, the drone it made at highway speeds, finally wore us out. In this video, you'll get to see where we went to get it fixed, hear a couple of different options we were presented with and ultimately, what muffler we chose to buy and have installed.

That's cool you found something you like. It can be so tricky with all the muffler options and engine sizes to get the sound you want.

I had Magnaflows on one of my v8 mustangs in the 90s that the previous owner installed. It was a mean but non-obnoxious sound. At the time, I actually worked at an exhaust shop and Flowmaster was the rage. Sometimes they sounded ok, but sometimes just too raspy and obnoxious. I got so many compliments on the sound of the magnaflows.

Good to hear you were happy with your Magnaflow exhaust on your Mustang. As you know, we've been real happy with the one we have on Moby and with his LT. I should note, I was prepared to run something different if it actually sounded better and I was really happy that the shop we used was willing to let us hear the options they had that would fit best before making us commit to buying.

Depending on what you're needing, there are other muffler systems out there that are probably quieter if that's what you're looking for, especially if you're willing to have it the final dump at the tail of your Jeep. In fact, Magnaflow has a Gladiator specific kit that, from what I've heard, sounds great but because of our need to cut everything from about the middle of the truck back, this is all we could do. That said, I really really like what I'm hearing now and in spite of where it dumps and or the extra pieces.

The new muffler sounds good. I sympathize with getting tired of the mind numbing drone. I’ve got a couple Flowmasters on my old CJ. On long rides, that cool rumble wears thin.

Yes, it was on there for the last New Year run but I had just put the bullet on before that run, couldn't take the drone.
