Upgrading Headlights & Light Bar

Yeah I have heard that from other people as well. Do you feel that the head lights are brighter than stock? Currently I have PIAA Xtreme White Bulbs in my car and as long as the leds4less ones are brighter than my current then I may go ahead and buy them. I was looking at the projector headlights with red halos.

Also is the website I posted the same as the one you are talking about? I think they bought a new domain name (the one which I posted).

Yep, they did move over. I do see them brighter and sharper. Over all I love them. There are a few cold spots(less light) but the fogs make up for that. And the high beams are ridiculously bright.

Before installing my LED bar, I dropped a bead of clear silicone along the bar in every which way and on the connection. Driven in 6 hours of continuous heavy rain for a work trip. Not a drop inside the bar.

Good to know. I bought these LED CREE 75W headlights off of eBay for $288, with anti-flicker module installed. They are really really bright and seem to be really solid. They were about half the price of some of the brand name versions that I was seeing.

I do need to adjust them to point down a bit as I've been getting flashed a lot since I installed them.

Those look pretty great. Do you have any input on the package I listed?

Alright perfect than I think I am going to purchase the combo. Do you have any idea how high this light bar sticks up the top of the windshield by any chance? Want to make sure I will still be able to fit my rig inside the garage.

Yes, that's waaay high! I had to crank down my headlights after the leveling spacers. Love those duratracs, mine get here in a few days.

Yea, I need to get that done this weekend before I blind someone.

I'm happy with the duratracs. They've been good in the snow and rain here in Chicago.

How's the wiring harness/switch that comes with the kit? Did you have enough wire to run things into the cab and under the hood, or did you need to get some extra wire and add it in?

As far as headlights go I would just get a set of truck lites and be done with it. You will not need a light bar after you get the truck lites. I have a light bar on my grill and I never use it on back roads like I planned on doing because the low and high beam of the truck lites are really bright

Have to agree with Cozdude here...........Install a set of Trucklites and you'll NEVER regret it. Their customer care is great, the lights out performed my expectations. I have Dually D2's mounted on my A Pillar and another 20" Rigid light mounted just above my winch. Hardly turn them on since installing the TruckLites!!

And I completely agree with this...but I am not buying the light bar for the performance....if I was buying it for the performance I would drop $1300 on one and do it right. I am really buying it for an appearance upgrade which is why I wanted to get this package because it is a cheap appearance upgrade but at the same time a slight performance upgrade as well.

the main reason everyone keeps suggesting the truck lites is because they are well worth it. Drew@ore installed some new bulbs in his headlights a long time ago and even he stated that the lighting improved BUT it was not near what the truck lites produce (im paraphrasing on that statement). if you want the look then spend your money the right way and get the truck lites then go on ebay and buy a lightbar size of your choice for cheap. I have seen 20" bars on there for $50ish!

I just found one on Amazon for $30. 4.5 stars. Save yourself 7 bills

That's actually a good point, I may actually only end up spending slightly more by buying headlights and a cheap light bar than going with this package. Thanks for the input.

Do you happen to know of any high quality lights such as truck lights with a halo ring in them? Im not sure if you can add a halo to truck lites.

While I hate the halos...just overdone and should only belong on bmws....I do think the devil eye thing is kind of cool but pointless.

Did you click the link? You can buy them (TL or JWS) with a halo installed, if you don't want to do the assembly yourself. Otherwise a Oracle halo or the like can be installed with you doing the labor.

Yeah I have actually know about these for awhile now, the only thing is I don't want to spend $800 on headlights.

LOL

Let me see if I'm following...you post this

I answer your question with a link (showing it can/is being done).
You'll more than likely have to buy a halo kit, take the lens off, and then reseal it yourself.

Edit: Just saw this http://headlightupgrade.com/collections/truck-lite

You then post this, knowing the answer to your own question. You're just not liking the expensive answer lol.
Oracle sells the kits.

Anyway, high quality lighting isn't cheap. Just buy the TL's and be done.

I found out that it could be done after I posted the original question but before you responded with the link haha.

I agree...I'm not really a halo fan. Then came time to purchase my headlights and I wound up with the JWS J-Series with half halo lol. I just wanted something different than every one of my buddies running the TL's.

After looking at the link I posted, it got me thinking about putting the devil eye thing in my high beam projector. Just think the amount of work for the dozen times I'll ever use it is pointless lol
