TIN CAMP - This is the Last One...

I have to say, there's something about spending time out in the mountains of Northern Nevada for about a week on end and WITHOUT any internet or cell service. When you're that removed from the real world, life seems to slow down and you feel a lot better about everything. Fortunately, that's what Cindy and I just got back from and even though all we did was work on the property, it's a bummer we couldn't stay longer. Anyway, I know it isn't much but here are a few shots from our recent trip to Tin Camp.

One of the things I love most about summer in Northern Nevada is that you almost always get storms rolling through some time during the day and they always provide epic sunsets.

While our main purpose on this trip was to clean up the cabins more and do some dump runs, it was hard not to notice just how much the main pasture had grown. And, while it really isn't necessary, giving it a mow was definitely on my to do list.

Also, the grasses around the pond had really exploded since our last visit and this was another thing we wanted to address.

Of course, all that could way for another day. Relaxing for a bit, having a drink and enjoying a cool evening with a BBQ was first on the list.

Pretty much every day we were here, there was some kind of cool storm that rolled in.

On one of our walks across the property, we came across this snake skin that was about 3' long heading into a hole.

After a lot of hard work, here's a shot of pasture after I got most of it mowed.

And here, you can see that we cut back most of the grasses along the edge of the pond.

Thanks to the much welcomed rain, we got a chance to see a beautiful rainbow at sunset.

More beautiful skies reflecting in the pond.

I should note that I did all the mowing by hand, as in, using a big push string trimmer. While it got the job done, it took forever and was exhausting. That said, I've been giving this old riding mower that the previous owners left behind a harder look and I think the next time we come out, I'm going to get it running again.

Of course, if I could get this old beast running and with a bush hog, I'm sure I could get the job done faster LOL

Even though Ripley played really hard every day, every evening I had this face staring at me demanding that I play with her more.

On our morning walks, Cindy has been starting to collect whatever whole bottles that she comes across and this is the start of what she's found so far.

Hard to believe that we were so busy working and relaxing and enjoying the weather that we almost forgot to take a pic of us having fun.

AWESOME! Looks beautiful out there.

I love it when I can turn off the phone, it puts my mind in a different mode not wondering how much I'll be able to get done before getting interrupted.
So easy to focus on working and relaxing; to the point where the work is almost relaxing but definitely feels good at the end of the day.

My dog gets that same look... I played hard, rested and now it's time for us to play more lol

I like that A-Frame, can you get to the upstairs from the inside as well?

You did the mowing with that old Craftsman? Cindy have to hose you off outside to get the dust off you lol

Too bad that old tractor isn't running, do you know what's wrong with it?

hmmm... not sure I'd want to be surprised by the snake that shed that skin, looks like a rattler shed.

Wow, that really is a beautiful place! Awesome shots!
Absolutely beautiful property! Cool to see it a bit more “alive”
Thanks! Glad you like the pics
Glad you guys had a good time. Hard work in a beautiful area is way better than internet and “news”…. Great pics! 👍🏻
I would still be the first to say that it's weird not having "access" but surprisingly, it's something I find that I can get over quickly and don't miss at all.

That really is a thing, not getting interrupted and staying focus is super relaxing.
I like that A-Frame, can you get to the upstairs from the inside as well?
Yes, there is a spiral staircase on the inside.

LOL - I wish! Would have made life easier for me. I have and used a 22" push string trimmer. Great for taking down brush and tall grasses but it can be exhausting. And, I got super dusty too 🤪
Too bad that old tractor isn't running, do you know what's wrong with it?
Actually, I was told by the previous owners that it ran but the hydraulics leak and it didn't have brakes 🤪
