The stealership strikes again.

For context, at the end of 2022 I took my jeep in to the dealer because it had developed a bad misfire that ultimately resulted in a new driver side head and a full timing chain, tensioners and cam phaser replacement.

Was fine for a little over a year and then started to get haunted by the dreaded P06DD code. It would clear and then come back. Sometimes staying off for nearly an entire oil change cycle and sometimes it would come right back.
I got so busy and had other vehicles to drive so, I just decided to deal with it when I had the time and well, this is the result.

I had assumed I had a faulty sensor on the oil cooler itself and decided to replace both sensors. Upon removal of the oil cooler I found a bunch of small chunks of RTV gasket down in the large oil port that feeds the oil cooler.

pic isn’t very clear but, safe to say this is what has been messing with my program for the last 15,000 miles and now it looks like I’ll be pulling this motor out, and chasing down another it I can’t get this all cleaned out and, that’s to say nothing for the oil pump likely being full of this shit. Damn…2.8 million miles was a pretty good run, though.😆

I wonder if there is some way to do a flush…
