Truly sad but their own undoing unfortunately, it’s funny to think that my dad almost moved us to California when we were kids as he was setting up his business and California used to be one of the best states to start and run a business. This was the early 90s, but in reality not that long ago.

The early 90's is when I quit my job and started my own business in California. I can tell you, your dad did right not to move you there. Things only went down from there.

No doubts granted New York wasn’t to far behind but he got out around the time it started really turning south. When panning to sell and move here the Capital gains and other taxes would have eaten his whole profit at the end so he just sold it cheap to a guy he knew. Wild how some of these states discourage business so much and just want you to depend on them
