The adventures of Barry Blue

This is more of a picture bio, than a build thread. I'm pretty much useless with tools, so being that most complicated mods are going to be done by a shop (hence more expensive) this more like a chronology of my jeep as it grows up. So, here we go:

On 5/1/16, I woke up and browsed the autotrader for jeeps (as I've done most Sundays for most my life). I had no real intention of going out and buying a jeep that particular day. But an ad from a Lincoln dealer caught my eye

I went down there out of curiosity, and 3 hours later

Mother's Day came along and I just couldn't wait to take the doors off like we did every winter back in high school in my friends old YJ. So I picked up mom for her first no door ride.

It wasn't long before I got the itch to start buying parts. But, being timid with tools, I decided with something simple, that went along with my love of riding doorless.

First MOD!

My big brother took me out for my first trail ride, as big brothers should

Then he surprised me with a gift, LED headlights he took of when he upgraded to JW's. Before long I was installing my next mod. And taking off my grill for the first time.

Holy crap, I didn't screw it up!

So little by little I've been working like a dog, working OT and off duty. Buying the little things you need to have with you. Or at least that's how I justify buying crap. Decided today I was going to organize my cubby and pick up a few things.

That's it for now, but stay tuned, Monday 6/20/16 I have an install appointment at Roco's 4x4. All those extra hours are about to pay off! No, literally I pretty much spent everything I made with all those extra hours. See ya soon WAL. And thanks for stopping by.

Looking good. The 20th cant get here quick enough. I can't wait for it to stop raining up here so I can go doorless. Maybe in the Keys in a few weeks. I

Hitting the bumper with a little flat black rustoleum. I definitely shouldn't quit my day job to become a painter

Popped off the grill to change out the turn signals, took advantage and zip tied the connectors for the headlights. Forgot to take pics during, but here's the after lol

I like the cleaner look of the white turn signals.

A can of wd40 rust penetrator, brute force, a hammer, bruised palms, and possible heat stroke, got front bumper off.

Some drilling was all it took to get new led fog lights with oem housing to fit on to new bumper

Minor hernia trying to get bumper bolts aligned on to the frame. Only one side would fight right at a time. Finally got it. As you can see by the drops of sweat on the bumper, it's been a long, hot, and frustrating afternoon. But after a ton of sweat, a little blood, and a whole lot of tears, I got the effing bumper on!

I have a whole new respect for all you guys that do all your work yourselves. Although I do feel a great sense of pride, I did not enjoy this one bit lmao!

Now for the winch. I'm pretty intimidated by all the wiring and millions of nuts and bolts in the box, if I do end up doing it myself, it sure as shit won't be today! I need another beer!!!
