Friday, May 20th. Meeting the group in Longview.
One last clean driveway shot before heading to Longview to meet the Houston convoy.

Before meeting up with the Jeeps, stopped and admired the historical Longview FD sta. 1. It's been in. service for over 100 years and one of the few that still has a usable fire pole.

Thankful to have a few two doors in our group, this was Bobby from Houston.

Headed over to The Butcher Shop, Longview's most interesting restaurant.

Joining us all the way from Kansas City, Shawn(Honor2afault) decided to join us for this run.

Dave(Dwiggles) was on the fence on which LED headlight he wanted to purchase, so two of us had a "headlight-off"

Saturday morning meet up!

Texas Nick had a huge part in helping plan this run, and arrived late Friday evening in his white Rubi.

Time to get started airing down and disconnecting sway bars!



One last order of business, Texas Nick applying his Wayalife decal!

NEWBIE RUN-DESI WAY TRAIL

The trail had many off camber sections, downhill ledges, and even a few small water crossings

The next trail we chose for the newbies was one called We Show. It was a very short, but right trail with a few good challenging spots!

Toward the middle of the trail there is a decent obstacle that because of the mud, made it a large ledge that wasn't passable. Because of the mud, it made it tough just to get over to the bypass.

What a sweet two door

Stepping up to our final obstacle, this was about a 2ft ledge that would be our final challenge of our newbie run. Nick and Carlos decided to give it a try!

Carlos ready, being at a slight disadvantage with stock tires, he wasn't going to let that stop him!

Unfortunately, he stalled but with some quick thinking was able to grab the brakes

Hitting the gas and heading straight up, he actually hit 3 wheels right after this shot!

Back on the ground, he was able to grab traction and come right up

And finally we finish the newbie run! Everyone had a great time and there was only some slight fender damage to Carlos' rig.
A great looking group, can't have just one shot!

Great photos, it's nice to see some of the fun y'all had in the morning. And yes I did have a little fun before everyone arrived.

Since the newbies were no longer newbies, we jumped with the advanced group and ran a level three trail

While there wasn't much mud on the trails, Dave found a little he had to crawl through.

Coming up to the next obstacle, it was time to get some flex!

Further down the trail, there was a nice rocky drop off that I only got to catch a few of the Jeep descending down

Now time to head back to camp, and get ready to run Rock Garden

ROCK GARDEN
Right next to camp, there is a section of boulders about 50 feet long known simply as the Rock Garden. Three of our group members decided to take on the challenge. Nick was the first to take on this rocky run.
