I couldn't find a bumper that I liked that didn't cost an arm and a leg so I decided to build my own. Still a work in progress.1367616074065.jpg1367616100087.jpg1367616117436.jpg1367616141117.jpg1367616167219.jpg1367616180089.jpg

Looks good. While I have no skills to produce something like that myself, I'll go ahead and ask, cuz I'm sure others will wanna know:

how are you mounting it? can you give us any dimensions?

Thanks everyone. I brought it to work to finish it up. Once the big wigs leave I'll go get it and take some pics of the mounts and take some measurements.

Finally got to do some welding. Not proud of my welding tonight but got the job done.1367659258302.jpg1367659280010.jpg1367659301570.jpg1367659316705.jpg
The main part of the frame is 3/16" the caps are 1/8". Its 59.5" long 7" tall and 4"ish deep. For mounting it to the from I used 4"x3/8" flat bar and beveled the edges to fit the radius of the frame. I clamped it inside the frame and drilled some 1/2" holes. I welded nut onto the flat bar.

wow, that really gives you an idea of how much money the fab companies are making!

Can't wait to get my father in law working my next metal project that requires welding!

Almost done with the shackle mounts. Forgot the shackle bolt so didn't finish the hole. Tomorrow. 1367909935908.jpg1367909969282.jpg1367909987943.jpg
