Steering component mounts rusting

My drag link mount and tie rod mount both have surface rust on on the axle side mounts. I was wondering if this was common. It's nothing crazy, I'm just surprised it happened at all considering I live in the high desert and it's only rained here twice since the jeep was even born.

Driving through the sand is basically sand blasting your under carriage. It's common for it all to rust under there. I bet it's just surface rust and a can of spray paint will fix you right up.

What overlander said, it's just surface rust and really, no big deal. Pick up a can of chassis paint, hit them up with it and call it a day :yup:
