Someone just tried to assassinate Trump

I think there's more to it. With that being said, I met some Venezuelans a couple years ago that were working here and they said Maduro is a major piece of shit and a lot of citizens left because of him.

Wouldn't it be cool if we really had a trustworthy government and we believed 💯 in what they do instead of having to second-guess everything?

The Iran deal is unsettling - hope we stay the fuck outta that bees nest.

Not sure how I feel bout this Maduro snatch. It's not about oil. Anyone that thinks oil, like water, isn't an abundant natural resource I have another thread for ya. But if it's about drugs, ok, now do Mexico next. Just the cynic in me doesnt believe it's this simple....

Waiting for his speech from the Palm Beach situation room. The Neocon still in me somewhere is slightly pleased this morning.

No one believes "no more new wars" no matter who says it.

Just watched the Venezuela press conference. Is it just me or is this insanity? We are taking over the country and going to administrate it? We're sending in our oil companies and doing to redistribute that wealth to their people, to us as reimbursement for the cost of the operation, and to our oil companies that were kicked out years ago to compensate them for lost profit?

Good riddance to Maduro but... damn. Not even one year in.

Removing foreign leaders due to violation of US laws seems like a slippery slope to me. Doing so is contrary to international law. It sets a very dangerous precedent that leaders of countries may be kidnapped (or shot) by the leaders of other countries.

that's been an area of political tension since maduro, I lost business when he kicked out the oil companies but damn, gutsy move that IMO.

IMO, Trump should have given American issues 95% of his focus and time, not other country's wars and political issues, maybe this will restore prosperity to Venezuela but not likely.

I believe many liberal lawsuits are soon to come will call for his release and Trump may have put the nail in the coffin to lose 2026 elections.

The fact that the entire country is partying and celebrating in the streets, and toppling the statues of Maduro, tells me Trump did the right thing.
Didn’t Maduro lose an election recently and then declare it invalid? The people spoke.
Had to laugh when he called it the Donroe Doctrine.

that's' right, he lost, and it was proven he lost then proceeded to jail and if I remember correctly, some were killed.

Hmm, where have we seen this before? Hopefully things go differently this time, but it feels a little like history repeating itself.

I remember Panama. I was a kid living in Fort Campbell 1990s, my neighbor was in special forces. My friend said his dad was in Panama to remove norwiaga (sp?) a few days before it happened. This sounds like the same reasoning was used.

Not saying I agree with these actions but the CIA has been removing and replacing leaders supposedly clandestinely for years. At least the Orange man came out for the world to see and took him alive to boot.
