Sliders and protection questions

If you weld on the LoD sliders, I'd feel comfortable with putting them right up there with the EVO sliders.

Interesting. Welding is out of my league but I'm not against paying a few bucks to have the Lod welded after I get them bolted on. Thank you for the honesty! Now to make a decision...

I have no experience with LOD but I Love the EVO Weld-ons. Bent a few lesser brands and have seen other top brands that bolt-on fail under heavy use (especially on the 4 doors at the B Pillar) and decided I wanted to be done.

Got the EVO's and... I can now say that I am done. You can pivot on rocks with the EVO's with the full weight of the Jeep on these sliders... they will tip in a bit so allow for clearance to the body when you weld them on... but they don't give up.

It may depend on how you plan to use them. They don't make a great step but they do work as one. For me, a slider is a tool that gets a lot of use here in the rocks and I didn't want to bend my rockers again.

The Evo ones don't give. What you are noticing is just body roll into them. The "semi" step that they do offer is if you get the custom angle. It's not the best pic but you can see how low they hang.

I would highly recommend rock sliders. I have Evo sliders and they have saved the sides of my jeep countless times. More than worth the money.

Cant say anything for the EVO sliders though I know they are stout. I have had my LOD sliders for almost 3 years now. No regrets.

Cozdude, yeah that makes perfect sense actually, the body is just leaning on the mounts and that's where the clearance tightens up to the body. It has looked like the Evo's flex a bit as well though under extreme situations. Either way, though, they kick butt and stand up to hell!

I ran factory rubicon sliders with genright weld on step. They took some hard hits but the flexed up and I have a nice crease along the entire rocker on both sides. I run EVO sliders now and I have dropped the weight of jeep on them took chunks out of trees sliding against them, and have been winched sideways from them. There strong. One of the guys I wheel with runs the LOD that's we been welded on and they are strong also. If you want a step/slider go LOD if you want a slider go EVO
