Simonjks build thread

The plan is 35 trail grapplers but that will be in a few months. I might try pick up some used 35s soon though

No pics yet but I just picked up a cb set up and a 20" light bar from a buddy. Paid less for the cb set up then new and pretty much got the light bar for free.:D also just ordered some more wayalife decals, along with some other decals to put on my doors.

Did a few little basic touches to the jk today. Pulled off the stock silver decals as im doing a white/black theme 1426095853652.jpg
Also tinted my turn signals and taillights. And temporary moved my licnese plate to the frame under the tire cause I didnt like the bulkyness of the stock plate location. Will be doing a tramp stamp eventually. 1426095984268.jpg1426096009262.jpg

And just finished painting my hood louver, hoping to install at the weekend.

Finally got around to installing a muffer. Installed a thrush muffler.

Will probably be the last set of mods for a few months coming up, once my evo d rings get here.

But when I get the go ahead again to order mods again, a winch, 35s, and sliders are on the list.

Simon- I have 35's, winch, and sliders all sitting in my garage ready to go. Let me know when you are ready for them.

When your slow at work and your co worker is obsessed with jeeps too. Jeep mods become work! Made some brackets from some scrap laying around for my hi lift. Just needs holes to be drilled and to get some hardware.

Mounts will mount to hood with stock bolts. Also figuring out how to make some limb risers. Just cant figure out how to mount to the top of the windshid.

Threw together some bolts for the hi lift mount tonight at work. Consists of bolt, washer, (mount), washer, spring(what will actually go threw the hilift), what we call a wheel(will act as a securing mount from the top) and a nut at the top. I hope it works

Nice build! I think off road elements makes a bracket for the windshield for limb risers that you could look at to get an idea of how to make one yourself. I'm pretty sure it's a 90 degree bent piece of metal that is riveted between the door and the windshield near the top. I was able to make some limb risers myself but I cheated being able to use my 50" LED bar mounts.

Slapped on some decals to the rear door today. Waiting on some others to get here for the front door. Wish I had known the big wayalife door decal was coming out. Ordered smaller decals the day before lol.

Just picked up some jeep parts. Got my evo rear d rings, some d rings, and a hi lift isolator. Ready for the nice weather to roll in so I can install along with my louver.

Have been given the go ahead to order wheels and tires in the next few months. Starting to look around at what to get. Im torn between the nitto mud grapplers and the toyo mud terrains. Also torn between stock rims and spacers, some steelies, or shell out the extra coin for some atx alloys. Opinions wanted. Tires will be 35s on 17" rims

Installed some EVO d ring mounts today. 3rd jk ive owned and put them on.

After doing some research, I've decided to pick up some black alloy rims, probably some atx rims. For tires ive decided on the toyo open country muds over the nitto mud grapplers. I ran the grapplers on my old rig in 37s, loved the tire and how it performed off road, but being as my rig is now used 95 percent on road, mostly commuting to daycare, I believe they are too loud for my 9 month old.
