Set Them Free Off Road-June 26th-28th

That is really unprofessional, coming from a moderator.

:cheesy: Don't like it, don't let the door hit you in the ass as you leave.

I can't believe there are so many grown men in this country who've become such pussys :naw:

I'm totally for making charities and non-profits disclose where the money goes, but the way everyone jumped down the original poster's throat, I feel it was handled poorly. There's no need to burn him at the stake, everyone needs to relax.

I just went to post to this section, and it doesn't say anywhere that you need to email the administrator before posting an event. So I probably would have made the same mistake as he did.

Can Non-Profit Organizations Participate on WAYALIFE.com?

While we do make some exceptions for non-profit organizations to participate on WAYALIFE.com,we do require you to contact the administrators and get their approval first. Be prepared to provide a detailed explanation about your non-profit organization and what it does to help your cause. Additional information including a full disclosure of how proceeds are distributed may be required as well.

Can I make posts about non-profit organizations, charities or charitable events?

While WAYALIFE.com is willing to support and help promote legitimate non-profit organizations, charities and charitable events, we do require proof of their 501(c)(3) status be provided as well as have a detailed record of what they've accomplished and offer full disclosure of how their proceeds are distributed. Any and all non-profit organizations, charities, charitable events or their websites that are posted on WAYALIFE.com and cannot be verified by the IRS as having a legitimate 501(c)(3) status will not be allowed, PERIOD. 3rd party organizations or businesses that attempt to promote themselves by hosting charitable events will be required to provide proof that they are in fact working with a specific non-profit organization or charity and that proceeds collected from the event will in fact be going to them. Please note, it is the responsibility of the member who wishes to make posts regarding non-profit organizations, charities and charitable events to obtain and provide this information to the administrator.

I will search my email and post them up

Thanks. My initial assessments were based upon their lack of information posted on the site. When people who are reportedly charitable I like to know exactly where the money I donate goes.

To LeJerk, NOBODY jumped down the OP's throat. Nobody directed anything toward him other than me asking him to provide more info if he had it and his failure to comply with Wayalife rules when posting about non-profit organizations. Your screen name suits you.

So start up your own forum and run it however you like. Nobody here cares about how you "feel". I believe it is you who needs to relax.

And I'm sure you would have gotten the same response. Guys like you just ASSUME it's okay to promote charities because they're all so wonderful. Me, I'm just a skeptical ass and DEMAND PROOF of what they really do before I'd allow them to promote their cause on my forum.

Imagine that? You were able to find this all on your own. Thank you for looking this up and posting it here. :thumb:

LOL I turn around for five minutes to do some work and this thread jumps off of a cliff.

Who need rules anyway. I plan to speed home today and not stop when the police try to pull me over, because I think that I should be allowed to speed.

And that was a BIG RED FLAG for me. If you're doing such good work, why wouldn't you proudly broadcast all that you have done - show just how much money you raised over they years and how much of that money went to specific actions that resulted in good work. I found the gross LACK of disclosure to be somewhat disturbing but then, that's just me.

Pics or it didn't happen, lol

My local club had the owners do a couple runs with us last year seems like good people. However I do completely agree that this is Eddie's forum and the rules are the rules. If it helps I can also dig around to get the right people in touch with Admin. I personally do not believe that it is our job to promote without consent of either parties. All this has done is made a good cause look like shit. And the owners of the charity are not the ones who either gave permission or started this. LET THEM DO THEIR OWN JOB!!!!! If the owners of set them free want to promote here let them do it and I am sure they would have followed the rules.

It was just the general vibe I got from people responding. What the Hell is he thinking, the dud's a joke. Stuff like that. You actually weren't one of the people I was referring to, it seems what you posted was fair.

Post a link to that. It is not posted anywhere on the "Upcoming Trips & Events" forum.

Someone comes to wayalife.com, then they see that section:

"Upcoming Trips & Events
(4 Viewing)
Got an upcoming run or event that you'd like others to be a part of? If so, this is the place to post it up.
"

But there aren't any Rules or FAQ's in that section.

Are you really that sensitive? Holy shit, grow a set.

The one good thing is that this will draw a lot of attention to Set Them Free Off Road. I feel confident that the Internet Detectives will get to the bottom of it, whether it's a legit charity or not.

Funny, I never knew that charities are always associated with an upcoming trip or event. :naw:

We have an FAQ and it applies to the whole forum. As the rules you were required to agree to in order to become member of my forum state, and I quote, you "understand that it is your responsibility to be familiar with and remain updated with current WAYALIFE.com Rules and Guidelines."

Actually the FAQ/Rules are on EVERY PAGE. It is the user's responsibility to read, understand and abide by WAL rules.

I don't mind walking you by the hand through this: Click the underlined "FAQ" depicted in the picture below.

Clicking that takes you to:

Select the applicable question:

I found that all on my own in under 5 seconds.
