Score! First mod!?!

Warn just released brand new versions of their PowerPlants (I have one on my JK). I'm guessing that's the previous version that was discontinued.

Idk... haven't seen them discontinued anywhere yet. I know they had a change a while ago, but that's the first I've heard about the new model you have.

I just checked the warn website, don't see anything about the new powerplant. What's the model number of yours?

DNI(do not inventory) usually means its a display model....either way it sounds like a great deal. Maybe THEY are just not selling it any more due to low sales of that model in their shop

You hit the nail on the head! It was from the farm store "Big R". It's kinda like a tractor supply. They're not carrying the Warn line anymore according to the Manger. Yes, I did get the display model but for some reason it was displayed in a sealed box. Idk...

This update was done awhile ago by Warn, I'd say we'll over a year ago. This is from their website.
WARN POWERPLANT 12
This improved winch/air compressor now offers increased performance and reliability.
The WARN PowerPlant 12 combines a powerful winch with a high-performance air compressor for the ultimate vehicle-mounted multi tool. The PowerPlant 12 has a pulling capacity of 12,000 lbs. and is equipped with a powerful air compressor that can air up four 35" tires in eight minutes and even run air tools. With additions such as stainless steel fasteners, a pressure switch, a revised contactor, and a hose and accessories, the PowerPlant is better than ever.

OK, that makes more sense.

Closed box display model + great mark down because the store isn't carrying it any more = ultimate score. Well done, now get it on a Jeep! :p

So what is different on the new version?

Honestly it isn't a huge difference. There is a new contactor. The accessory kit was updated in some fashion and there was something else about the winch itself that was updated. It wasn't a giant model redesign or anything. My model is the 9.5 and I believe it was previously the 9500. They did the same thing with the 12.
