:cheesy: At least you found a work-around. Cage is next on my list of wants. Might wait till the off road expo comes to town early Oct for any deals.

Its actually what they recommend, guy said if the bar was more forward to make it easier, you could hit your head on it being in the back

jnabird333: I have a 2 door JK Rubi and installed the front portion of this sport cage. Relatively easy install but on my install, the dash is dented down a bit right where the side vent is where the side bars touch the dash. Not sure if hinrichs had this same clearance issue. Before you get yours painted, you may want to test fit those to see if you need to clearance the side bars in that area. I didnt do anything, so the dash is pushed down a tad. You can almost see just where on the pix hinrichs sent. Lower left corner.

I toyed a lot with that bar running across the dash. One point, I had it touching the tray in the middle, to give more visibility. Seems each end of that bar has a bit of an upward bend that kinda is distracting until you get used to it. In the end, I set the bar at a height that cleared the center tray by about a qtr inch and called it a day.

Good luck with your build.

Yeah, didn't need it but wanted to finish it

That looks real good. I didnt do it on mine, but may come back and do it at some point. I run a bimini, so this would be a problem for the center strap routing on the bimini. I did a RockHard sport cage on my TJ, and due to the different design on the bars going back, it was not an issue......

Thanks!

I always test fit everything, but I appreciate the looking out.

I am strongly considering welding a little material to cover the small gap that is exposed where people often run wires. I am also considering notching the dash bar if I think that means I can get it lower...

I also may cut the handles off... (I'm very particular and like to be different)

We will see how it goes when the parts arrive :)
