Worked at Texaco station in Tucumcari one summer as a teenager around 1980. Back then, there was no bypass, the highway ran right through the middle of town. There are a couple lakes in the area which provided some fun, but that was about it.

For fun, try waking around old Tucumcari (just off main Street) in the evening. Before long you will notice that there are eyes peering from from the windows with no glass. It is really spooky.

For extra kicks, visit Cuervo, NM, (just down the highway) and learn about it's sordid history.
