Trailer leaf spring brackets…
One side was completely sheered off and the other still had about 1.5” of steel left holding. I don’t know how long I drove it like this but glad I caught it when I did. Had to borrow a buddy’s 110v welder since I was scared to drag the trailer to the shop.

I have buffing pads that attach to a conventional drill, I’ll start there. What compound you think? It’s not leftover adhesive but rather the outline of the letters.

Actually thinking about it some more. You might want to try a clay bar on it with a good clay lubricant you’d be surprised how much a clay bar will pick up. Just keep turning it and working it.
