Reminds me of the story I read years ago. Beginning of kindergarten teacher going through the names comes across La-a. She looks at it and can’t figure it out for the life of her so she says La? The kids mother pipes and says the dash don’t be silent. Her name is Ladasha but her mother was either to stupid or to lazy to actually spell out her name. So the kids name La-a cause the dash don’t be silent.
