Question for the gopro auteurs on camera placement

I'm going to put a gopro on the roof for top down shot but I'm unsure of wether to put the mount on the freedom top itself or the windshield frame, any pointers? Pros or cons? Thanks for your replies in advance

On the windshield frame is where I would do it. That way if you want to pull your freedom top off you can. Also I suggest you get the suction cup mount. It's the best one cause you can suction it to your door, windows, hood, bumper, etc.

I plan to get a suction cup to use for side shots, never thought about placing it on the windshield with the suction cup, thanks

took some tester video on a sticky mount placed on my Warn front bumper, will post later

I use a bicycle mount to hang it under my rear view mirror, but that's kind of a pain making it hard to move the camera as well as the mirror. I'm considering getting a suction cup mount for the window.

Suction cup is by far the most versatile. I don't like the idea of using the sticky mounts much unless on helmets and stuff.

I installed a sticky mount on my warn bumper, this angle looks pretty nice I must say, I plan on testing on the skidplate as well...
