Please help with ARB Air Compressor S-Pod adapter

Just got my Spod with the ARB air compressor adapter. Went to look at the wiring instructions and they are generic. It shows one picture of what "WILL NOT" be used. The part that will not be used is the section for wiring the front and rear lockers. However, there is a relay and a fuse line which also connects to the battery. Do I get rid of the fuse line and relay box? There is a lot of wiring that seems unneeded once the Spod is in place. Any help, maybe with pictures, would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I have spod controllinging my arb. My jeep isn't here or I would take a picture. There is a lot that doesnt get used when you use spod

All you need to di is hook the + and - that would go to the battery to the SPOD. That is it, everything else gets thrown in the extra parts box or trashed. Your SPOD becomes the relay and battery per say and the swich controller becomes the power on/off.

I can take a pic but my compressor is not installed yet. I have the ARB with the EVO mount kit.

Which arb compressor? with my twin I still had to run the power wires to the battery, and the spod ties into the wiring for the arb and that is what turns it on and off. I thought it was very easy to install and figure out with the adapter provided.

Did you mount yours under the passenger seat?

Step 1: Unbox the ARB and get it all set up in where you want it with the wires laid out across the engine bay.

Step 2: Unhook the sPod from the battery and all other components.

Step 3. Unbolt the sPod from its mounting location.

Step 4. Throw the sPod in the trash because the company that makes it is dishonest.

Step 5. Have a beer and revel in the fact that you are not supporting douchebags.

Yes, its a pain to get the wires through the side panel, but I like that its inside and protected.

Sharkey, you really need to be working a tech support job. :thumb: I can hear the first caller now.......

Call sPOD. If you have a device which supports facetime, they will explain over video what goes where. I had similar questions initially and the video call cleared it up. Running my compressor, lockers, lights and a warn power interrupt off the sPOD.

I have the Painless Trail Rocker on my JK and use it to trigger the ARB CKMA12 compressor on my JK. It should be very similar and wok with the SPod. The compressor IS wired to the battery for power. It's not a good idea IMHO to wire an item that draws so many amps, through an SPod, Tral rocker, etc. My Trail rocker just trigger the ARB relay and turns on the compressor.

I cut off all of the stuff on the ARM harness that has to do with lockers since I don't plan to use it. The compressor power and ground wires are hooked to the battery. I used the included relay and the plug that goes on the side of the compressor manifold. On the ARB harness, the red wire that would normally be routed to a switch inside the vehicle, is instead spliced into the #1 output wire on my Trail Rocker. So the compressor gets power from the battery, but the Trail Rocker triggers the ARB relay, and turns on the compressor. I'm at work in Iraq so I can't help with photos or anything, but I cut out almost all of the ARB compressor harness that the instructions say to route into the vehicle interior.

Do you have air lockers that the compressor is also driving or are you just using it for inflation? I can't really tell based upon your post and the answer will be different depending upon the use.

Figured it out

Thank you everyone for all your help. Got it all figured out. Just had to get rid of the portion for the lockers. I switched over from the DayStar switch panel that goes in front of the gear shifter, talk about a pile of crap. The daystar thing melted and warped in the summer heat, and once the ARB harness was behind it I had to figure out creative ways to wedge it shut. Glad that thing is out of my Jeep. Again, thank you for all your help. Jon
