PAPPY : 1954 Willys CJ3B

Nice Willys Cindy & Eddie,

Always wanted a jeep, but never go one. Then my brother started collecting them; after going for drives here an there, I knew then I had to get one (finally got a 2 Door Rubicon Last year).

Attached are his two most recent ones... on the left is a Willys and the other a Ford

... and me on my first fun excursion with my Rubi through Tory Rocks in West Milford / Ring Wood, NJ (Random Trail my buddy found)

Cheers,

Thanks everyone, we're glad you like the new addition to our family :yup:

It's the perfect step child!! Congrats ! Love it!

Cindy likes to call it an "ugly duckling" but "step child" sounds way more fun :D

It looks 10x cooler without that cage!

Agreed. I mean, I get why people want a cage but this Willys was never meant to have one.

:clap2::clap2::clap2: "I knew that you would!" This is so cool.:thumb::thumb:

LOL!! Yeah, you know us pretty good by now

For being 61 years old....it is in GREAT shape!!!! And even the ashtray is intact! Great find. Glad to see your son is close by! Family, its what its all about...... Congrats on both!!!!!

Yup, we would have been glad if he had moved back to SoCal like he wanted but we're super glad that he now lives in the same town.

Congrats I love the older Jeeps and the color is a Perfect Fit.

If they did not salt our roads here they would hardly have any rust out.

Actually, the rust on this Willys isn't that bad. I have seen much worse on rigs that have never seen snow.

Very cool. Much better without the cage!

You and Cindy need some Jeep birth control...the Wayalife family is growing fast. ;)

:cheesy: I think we're done for now.

Here is my old yellow flatty. I've owned mine for 24 years now. Bought it for $1300

I like my cage but went without one for many years.

Wow, that thing is a beauty - nice! :thumb:

Congrats on another jeep, love the color and looks so cool next to Rubicat :thumb:

They're not an exact match on the colors but, after doing some patch work, we may fix that and paint Pappy in Dozer. :yup:

Congrats, didn't take long to fill that empty stall

LOL!! We were looking to fill it before it was vacant :D

Wow! Good job Eddie and Cindy for collecting finest JEEPs so far. I wonder if this Willy's original mileage is 21,521 or it is 121,521 or 221,521?

Hard to say for sure. Hard to imagine that there've been too many miles put on this Jeep being that it really only has a top speed of about 50 MPH and it's always been local.

Damn you didn't waste any time filling that spot! Looks awesome, and I never knew they modified the hood on some models to fit the bigger engine.

Yeah, I think most people don't know about the CJ3B's and their high hoods. It definitely gives it a unique funky look and it's what we love so much about it. Kinda like the Jeepster Commando's, they're just so different, it's hard for us not to like them. :yup:

Wow! So badass! I love it! Congrats to you guys! If I were to find one in that condition out here it would be a miracle! Oh and it's funny how it didn't take you to long to get it off the pavement [emoji6]

Oh yeah - what's the point of a Jeep if you can't take it out on dirt as soon as you can

Very cool! Congrats! I really like the look without the soft top and cage.

Definitely better this way and what we'll most likely the way we'll keep it.

You guys pick great jeeps! The CJ3B is my favorite flat fender because of the high hood! Love it!

Thanks, we feel the same. In fact, there were several times where we came across some nice Willys that we almost got instead but kept feeling like we'd be settling. Even looking in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Arizona, we could only find 2-3 other CJ3B's. One was way too modified and the other two were kind of junky. They aren't the easiest things in the world to find and it amazed the hell out of us that this one showed up in a parking lot with a for sale sign in our town. Gotta love buying local and from an old retired guy that doesn't know how to list things on craigslist :yup:

So awesome, what a cool collection you have, but I have to ask, usually jeep freaks (and I think you qualify) really want the '44 willys...

Curious as to why you weren't looking to pick one of those up in your hunt for classic jeeps! Having said that, enjoy Pappy in good health, hopefully one day, you'll get to pass him down to your grandkids!

While we do love the old MB's and GPW's, it wasn't what we really wanted or, at least, not right now. Most are just way too nice, fully restored and come with a price tag to match. We kind of wanted a Willys that would need a little TLC. Maybe someday.

Super jealous. Awesome find!

Thanks, you'll have to come up sometime and see it for yourself :yup:

Wow that thing is amazing! I frickin love it! I hope to own something like that someday

Thank you. I think one would be perfect for a guy like you who loves to work on Jeeps :yup:

Congrats on the Willys!! It's very clean for its age and I bet is fun as heck to drive.

Honestly, it's crazy fun to drive. I take it out whenever I get a chance

Wow, those look amazing :thumb:

Been super busy with work travel the last couple days.

Just discovered this and Pappy is really just too cool. [emoji106][emoji41][emoji106] How you guys keep finding these little gems is awesome.

Look forward to seeing you guys fix/repair the few minor things and like that you are keeping and taking it back to as original as possible.

What a blast and congrats on filling that garage void that must been really eating at you. [emoji6] lol.

LOL!! Thanks. Just the thought of there being a void was eating at us. Fortunately, we were able to fill it with something we've always wanted and at least for now, our desires to adopt anymore Jeeps has been satisfied :yup:

Not sure how I missed this one. That is one gorgeous rig. You and Cindy have quite a few great Jeeps, but this one is my personal favorite by far.

Yea!! Got my original factory service manual and its in near mint condition!

My Buddy's CJ3B with a Chevy small block in it. One of the nicest jeeps in the southeast as far as restorations go. Love the new Jeep. I'm also a fan of the 3Bs
