Overlanding Gear

If you want a hot shower, this is the way to go. I don't have a heater for mine, but they are sweet!

I remember when these first came out...West Marine was selling them to small boat owners...but they did not have a heater feature. I'm also wondering if you can adapt your onboard air to provide pressure for the field fill kit to eliminate the bike pump...I might have to get one of these...I'm starting to tire of baby wipe baths prior to rolling into the sleeping bag when I don't have my trailer...

Haha! I will let you know. I already have one, and am going to see if I can get the repressure portion from them and a heater. You can def run it off a air compressor. They are a San Diego company so hopefully I can talk with someone there. I will give a review once I have the parts.

Thread bump because it is Spring and therefore time to dust off the old gear and maybe pick up some new gear.

Not throwing shade on the ARB's, but I've had this Costway 54qt fridge for 4 months now and so far it's been doing fine. It's been plugged in and running non-stop since early December with zero issues. At $379 & free shipping on Amazon, it's looking to be a pretty good deal. I plan on using it extensively in both of the Jeeps this year so if it either shits the bed and dies or hangs in there I'll update.

I’ve got my sights set on this thing given that the JT is in my future plans. Would be nice to have a fridge that I can put in the bed and not have to worry too much about rain.

Looking forward to the update! I’ve been looking at an arb for a while but other things keep popping up and pushing it aside. Would be nice to have a reliable fridge at an amazing price. How does it fit in the back of a JKU? Does it still fit parallel with the vehicle?

Yup, just like the ARB and the lid opens the same way. Hard to tell the difference in the interiors too.

You forgot to mention that your wife bought it for you. So of course it’s awesome. [emoji23]

LOL, the fact that she bought me a Jeep accessory that didn't suck is what makes it really awesome! Haha, whew! :whew:
I told her to quit while she's batting a 1000

Glad to hear that it’s holding up well! You have me thinking about getting one!

Do you care if the fridge is taller than the bedrails? I don't know the dimensions of this one but the ARB 50qt is too tall. I'm already trying to think of what to do on this because we're getting the tonneau cover.

Are you going to wait for a diesel? I’m thinking of getting the factory tonneau cover also. Trying to picture in my head how it will look with a camper shell....

No diesel for us. Too much eco-terrorist bullshit on them nowadays IMO. Much more shit that carbons up and breaks. As much as I miss my 7.3, I don't miss dealing with cold starts and the extra maintenance. We also won't be using the towing capacity to its full potential regardless.

That's why I ended up going with the Dometic 35. Even on the slider it fits under my tonneau cover. I have to roll the tailgate bar out of the bracket, but after that, it slides right out.
