Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T - says made in Japan?

Caught the Bug
My NITTOs arrived today. I always thought they were made in USA, which is important to me. These say made in Japan. When did that change?

Safe to assume you got 40" tires? If so, they have always been made in Japan. I have seen where some 37's are made in Japan as well but that's mainly because Nitto can't find enough people in Georgia to work at their plant. Crazy times.

The 35's I got the end of last year for my old Gladiator had made in Japan stamped on them.

Made in USA is my preference as well, but I'd run Made in Japan without hesitation if that's what was available.
Like Eddie said, there are staffing issues at virtually every assembly/manufacturing plant in the US. It's a damn shame.
You got that right. But really it's just about every business is short handed. But then you have some plants that are on strike.

My Trail Grapplers are made in the USA! I wouldn't hesitate on them being made in Japan though either. It's still Nitto's excellent formula just unfortunately not forged by American hands.

I too support American manufacturing as much as I can. However, many Japanese companies manufacture amazing products. Nitto Tires is one of them…Nitto Kohki is another.

I like the tires, Nitto makes a great product. I realize made in Japan typically means quality. I just feel like the country I bled for is dying and I try to feed her every chance I can.
