My first trail......EVER.

So with the brand new JKU barely 30 hours old....and just over the required 300 mile break-in, the wife and I threw the dog in the back and headed east out Highway 4. We stopped at Barnes and Noble and found three helpful books:

1.) Exploring the back Roads - 28 Day Trips in the greater Bay Area by Peter Browning
2.) Sierra Nevada Byways - 51 of the Sierra Nevada's Best Back Country Drives by Tony Huegel
3.) Guide to California Back Roads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails by Charles Wells and Matt Peterson ( thank you JKCrawler :thumb: )

...after looking through all three, we chose Corral Hollow for it's easy/moderate rating and convenient location off of Hwy 4.

We hit the trailhead by 7pm, so we only had less than an hour of daylight, so was only able to cover the most southern / western half of the trail - but Easy for sure, and the JK most likely could have done it with three wheels tied behind its back. But as a VERY FIRST trail ever driven EVER, it was completely awesome! A perfect chance to simply soak in the wondrous view as well as collect experience. Paige also loved it, and was just as comfy curling up and sleeping or resting her head on the center console to let us know she wanted a potty break!

While I was recording video, I felt so excited!! Looking back and watching them after I got home, I'm embarrassed at how little we were actually doing! Funny how that works! I suppose a good trail quote is " Every trail is easy.....once you finish it!". Don't laugh, we all had to start at some point.

Haha! Thanks for listening...

Take this the right way, but if I saw you on the trail, I'd ask you for your autograph.

My neck hurts! ;)

Glad you had a great time... Can you feel the money leaving your pocket yet?

:cheesy: I was kinda thinking the same thing \

That being said, great pics BDSJEEP and congrats to you for catching the Jeep bug!

Ha! No worries! :thumb: I get that all the time, not only Rob Zombie, but Howard Stern, Slash from GnR, it runs the whole gambit.....

...the funny thing? You probably will get my autograph, ...a few times, .... on credit card receipts, when ordering stuff! LOL :cheesy:

Yeah, don't know why the forum knocked 'em over. They were upright on my PC, and upright in the uploader doohickey window...
*shrug* Tilt your monitor to avoid hurting your neck :bleh: ;) :D

...and yeah, I can foresee many late-nights in front of various (upright) online catalogs!
What is that popular moniker again? Just Empty Every Pocket, right?

Thanks All - I soooo look forward to collecting more experience, and catching up with many of you out there someday. :)

p.s. Eddie, I do plan on sporting some WAYALIFE swag on our Jeep,
but think I should get some experience first to represent the brand better.
;)

Welcome to the brotherhood of Neverending trails. They are right about the money, the time and the various pains, but it is all part of the Wayalife. Remeber, all trails are connected by those pesky smooth paved stretches. Here in Arizona we love off roading so much even our pavement is rough.
