Glad you were driving by when I was walking Chai so you could check them out! If Hot Springs for some reason doesn't work out for July 4th weekend, then Wolf Caves it is!

I won't be surprised WJCO... [emoji23]

Your JK looks awesome!

You SURE a 40 fits that carrier? LOL.

Beautiful rig man.

Thanks man! The tire carrier is stretched to the max lol.

Enjoy it out there man, hope it's everything you wanted and more :)

The ride on the coopers are incredible. Super smooth, no road noise. On road, already feels better than my 37" trail grapps. Definitely need some more pinch seam trimming in the rear.

Looking killer! 40"s on there for the first time sure rocks, doesn't it? Sadly, I feel pretty used to mine already...

All tires are quiet when new. Do post your impressions as they break in.

Might need to trim and potentially stretch. I pushed rear axle back 2" range. Helped clearance and no issues w max flex off-road. I've been too lazy to post pics (maybe I will Sunday), but I ran trail for trail w a complete tube buggy on my outing! Let's go take our rigs off-road together here soon!

That's an awesome build and ride, your jeep is looking great, thanks for sharing the build and congrats! How are the 5:13's with the 40's and are you running any kind of tuner chip with it, if you don't mind me asking?

Pretty much summed it up without getting too technical. I'll get technical though...lol

I have been using UHF/VHF since I got in the FD 13 years ago. Granted there are tons of components to make the systems on our end work well (better than these radios) ie: repeaters but the overall function is the same. I would guess realistically we will get 5-15 miles in CO and in Texas probably double that with the model (RM50R) some of us bought. Rugged Radios has other models that are less wattage and thus less distance. I haven't used UHF/VHF outside of my area so I am not sure on distance. Regardless, I am confident the radios will work better than the best tuned CB. I sold my mobile CB and bought a Midland handheld that can be converted to mobile so that I can still communicate with those that don't have these radios. Some very general info on the comparison. The RM50R is dual band so it does SOME of the VHF and UHF frequencies. I am also dumbing it down since, it goes without saying, that other industries and technologies utilize VHF, UHF, etc radio frequencies: TV, AM/FM radio, phones, etc. Some of our guys didn't get the same radio, as it is quite expensive, however as long as their radio has some of the frequencies we should all be able to communicate.

CB:
4 watts max
frequencies 27s MHz
Few miles distance, can be more or less
Antenna tuning required

VHF:
Power ranges
Frequencies 150s-170s MHZ
few miles up to 20ish miles

UHF:
Power ranges
Frequencies low 400s to upper 400s MHz.
few miles and further than VHF potentially

Do you need to have any licenses to operate this radio?

Thanks man! It's been a lot of fun building it up. The 5.13s, in my opinion, are totally fine with 40s. 5.38s of course would be better, but I'm not gonna beat myself up over it. No tuner chip, other than an aev procal module after any meaningful upgrade.
