Hello Jeepers, I know I drive the Granddad to your JK's etc. But Jeepin has been a "Way A Life" for me since childhood. I enjoy reading about your trips and watching the videos. My rig is a 1954 M38A1, the Military version of the CJ. My Father put it together from military surplus parts back in the late 60's. I learned auto mechanics while helping him with it. It has been all over the western states. It's not 100% military,it's a mixture of military and civilian parts. And some minor upgrades along the way. The engine is simplicity at its best. The attached picture in the snow is getting across an icy patch with a little help from a friend, circa 1970 somewhere on the Black Bear Pass road in Colorado. Hope to meet you on the trail some day. It is a breath taking view. Just think about making that trip back in the day when the mines were operating with the rigs available then
Nice Jeep too :D

I hear that. My Grandfather in law has been going to Telluride area since the late 50 early 60s. He did Black Bear the first time in a 51 willys wagon. No thanks!
It's great to wheel up there and have him as a Co pilot. He is 82 now and the stories are soooo priceless.

My Dad has some stories too. Great adventures. Got some recorded.....for family historic value. :)

Man that is a great old piece of history. Its awesome that you've maintained it running and running strong. Look forward to more pictures.

WoW! That is completely awesome! My wife would go nuts if you pulled up next to us in that thing. She's totally in love with the originals like that.

Thank you Mr. Ty. I have more old pictures but I have to get them converted from the old slide format to digital.
