I've had the same dilemma too went from getting 17/18 mpg to shooting up to 24 mpg and I fill up less now I'm on 31 inch tires and and stock 3:21 gears and a 2.5 spacer lift I have two theories... One the computer is wrong... And two the jeep being lifted is allowing more air to flow under the jeep thus making it more Aerodynamic.

I was getting 12mpg with 4.10s and 35s in Los Angeles, I live in the Foothills so there are lots of grades and I used OD full time.

Since going to 37s and 5.38s I now get 15+mpg. I'm stoked.
