Lifelong Squarebody Chevy Fan Taking the Plunge to Jeep

Hello from Aurora, CO. Since high school I had been wheeling my first car, a 1984 Chevy K10. No lift or lockers, 3/4 ton axles, and a 4-speed manual, I managed to get that thing up Wheeler Lake, Redcone Pass, T33a, and Hackett Gulch, et.al. It was never easy or comfortable dragging an old farm truck up those trails, so I began building a K5 Blazer in 2016. Going on 6 years of that build, I've had to replace 50% of the floor and body braces, flipped the shackles, built a shaved 14 bolt with a Yukon locker, and am working on a new engine and adding crossover steering and a built D44 to the front.

Priorities changed throughout the years and the K5 project is still a ways off of completion. I've always had a manageable obsession with the Wayalife JK Experience videos, and finally decided to pull the trigger and get my first Jeep. I stumbled upon a 2012 Rubi at a local Subaru dealer and that needed a good home. Someone's poured a lot of time and money into this truck: chromoly axle shafts, full belly pan, rock sliders, and fat heims joints throughout running 38's. It just rolled 100kmi and a 6-speed manual; it's been well taken care of through the years. I'm not usually a fan of buying someone else's projects, but it seemed like a good deal and I cannot WAIT to take it on trails that use to compress my spine in the old farm truck.

Thanks for letting me join. Just some pictures to share below (I apologize for the dealer listing pic of the Jeep).

Love those early Chevy trucks. Had a few over the years. These are the only pictures I could dig up of some recent ones. The black dentside was my daily driver for a few years and a ton of fun. Had a couple 4x models I wish I kept. But that’s how it goes.
