Kung Fu Flicks

Anybody out there into Kung Fu flicks? I've been a big fan my whole life and, while I still enjoy the poorly dubbed Bruce Lee and Shaw Brother classics, I especially love the 1980's and 90's Jackie Chan and Jet Li era of films. Sure, there was a lot of cheesy wire fu and god awful stories/dialogue to go around but, the fight scenes and action in them far surpassed anything Hollywood could conjure up on a computer screen or, at least in my opinion anyway. With the exception of Donnie Yen, most of these guys are have past their prime but, I am happy to see a new crop of martial artist rising up and from countries other than China. Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) is one, Jeeja Yanin (Chocolate) is another and this new guy from India named Vidyut Jammwal is definitely one to be watching. If you haven't seen him before, here's a clip from his upcoming movie, Commando.

Did I mention, there are Jeeps in this? Enjoy

Oh, for old time sake, here's one of my favorite fight scenes from Jet Li's Fist of Legend :D

I was big into Kung Fu flicks or any kind of martial arts related movies, Only The Strong, Perfect Weapon to name a few but you can't beat a good Bruce Lee, Jet Li or Jackie Chan movie!

Brother Eddie this is an awesome thread way cool I dig all the Kung fu vids and this one was one of my favorites iron monkey was another good one he played in

Loved Iron Monkey!! Speaking of which, here's a badass scene with Sze-Man Tsang, a girl who played legendary Wong Fe Hung as a kid and was only 13 years old at the time of making this film...

Awesome staff fighting for such a young kid!

I think one of the best is Blood Sport. The acting stunk but the action was great. I can't connect a link because the computer system I am on won't let me.

Any of the Shaw Brothers movies were good! Classic in every sense, maybe almost cheesy, but they had what was needed. A good guy, bad guy, a vicitm and a plot! The angles they filmed at and over done sound effects made them awesome! This was before all the computer edited movies came along. People got hurt making these movies and it was all part of action acting. My son and his generation have no idea what we are talking about here.

Here's a 2006 Chilean stinker starring Marko Zaror. I say stinker because it had all the bad plot and acting fails. That's OK if the fighting is good. You be the judge. For me-:grayno:
