No more down shifting on the freeway lol
Definitely! From 55 and up sixth pulls strongly. I'm keeping the speed around 55 though for now to break the gears in.
from that video looks like you could use cutting off the cross member skid thing.
It does need to go for sure. I'll chop it in the spring time. It looks ugly and serves no purpose other than get in the way. I kept hitting it on yellow jacket too. Just need a new spot for my license plate.

Btw, Jim since you're on 37s I might be coming at ya with a few questions this spring. But for now I'm wondering: was there anything you had to do clearance wise to avoid rubbing?

Great build thread! Did you link the DIY bumper painting thread, if not could you? Would love to see that!

Thank you!!!

I never made that thread  I ended up losing a bunch of the pics I took during the process and got kinda busy. I'll post up the process soonish.

What bumper ya planning on running?

Definitely paint their fenders yourself. I have metalcloak fenders on my TJ and the powdercoat is rusting. Of course I live in NY. My Evo sliders are already rusting on the bottom, but I missed a scratch when I repainted them after my last RC trip.

Thats the worst. Get it again and preserve the best you can!!

Nothing major going on here right now, but we did have some nice weather today, so I put an extra coat of wax on the tub. Also sprayed some rust check spray on the sliders, bumpers, winch housing , and shock bodies. Jeep is going in for undercoating next week. Oil based spray similar to fluid film, should help slow down the east coast rust. Plus it's super cheap and can be reapplied every year when winter comes since I'll scrape or wash it all off when I go wheeling.

Anyway, snapped up a few pics after I was done. Really happy with how this rig is turning out. :-D

Santa wife was very good to me this year. Got lucky and had some warm weather so I installed my Strike Force Zebra Stealth thru the grill led bar mount. First time using a nutsert tool with no guidance lol. Install was pretty easy, was a really nice way to enjoy the 50 degree weather in December.

Had the chance to do some snow wheeling to help my local club set up our annual winter wheeling event.

It was my first time off roading in deep snow. The new gears and front locker proved to be extremely useful. Terrain was deep snow, frozen over mud holes. (breaking through ice into sloppy mud beneath. Lots of off camber and frozen tree roots. The rigs without lockers really struggled.

Had a total blast and I finally get what everyone likes about off roading in the winter. My jeep felt like a totally different animal with the new gears and locker. Also, while I didn't get stuck, several of my friends did. My Engo winch got 4 nice long pulls in throughout the day, freeing several from some thick mud. It performed very well, never even got warm.

This trip was something completely new for me. While it wasn't the huge rock crawling that I've grown to love it was definitely a test of my rig's capability and durability. Came out loving this beast even more. Can't wait to try out my new setup on the rocks.

Here's some pics :-D

Man that looks like fun!!

It was! Breaking through Un tracked trails was a blast, off camber narrow trails with trees within feet of the side of the trail = the wrong approach or too much/too little throttle meant body damage.

Also got to play with my winch a whole lot. While I'll go warn if this engo ever fails, I can't say I'm disappointed with it. After recovering several rigs yesterday I'll say that my winch and recovery gear were money well spent.
