Karen Of The Day

No video but here goes a story that I kind of think fits here.

So, I'm at a Mexican fast food joint and while I was waiting for my order, I notice an elderly couple starting to leave. The old lady gets out easily enough and is standing by the outer door (wind break entry) holding it open. The older man however was shuffling with a cane and moving really really slow and I could see that he was clearly struggling to get past the first door. Needless to say, I rushed over to help hold the door open and after about a minute, the old guy yells at me to "go around!!" To this, I explain that I was trying to help by holding the door open for him. This only made him more angry and said, "dammit, now you've got me turned around!!" So, I apologized and asked if there was anything I could do to help? After waving me off, I continued to hold the inner door until he got to his wife at the first door (and no, she never said a thing during all this) and then I went back to pick up my order. Can't say that I was pissed or offended but it sure was a weird experience. All I could think of was the old guy was really proud and just didn't want any help.

Anyway...

Dementia and pride. My step dad was just like that. Angry old POS. Nice that you tried to help.

when/if I get to that point, you can hold the door for me and tell me "I'm trying to help you, you old shuffling fuck, pick up your feet, GTFO and go to the light, outside, the light is outside"

But I'm really hoping my daughter does as I ask and turns me loose naked in the mountain forest, I won't know and I won't care (y)
