Kamikaze Jeep Build

So I guess I never did a build thread. I bought my jeep in May 2014 and picked her up in Bozeman Montana. I added the front and rear ORFAB bumpers, Warn Zeon 8S winch and Rigid Duallys on the front Bumper. It's a 2014 JKUR 6 speed with the 720N stereo

Did a pretty epic road trip back checking out Yellowstone, the grand Tetons and stopping in SLC for some in n out with my buddies

I should add within 6 hours of picking it up I got stuck in this little section of snow. Good thing I bought a winch

First Mod. Wayalife sticker and A pillar lights

I did wheel Moab stock and that made me want a lift and 35's so I ordered a 3.5" RE lift, 35" Nitto TG's and an ORFAB tire carrier. I also installed a Cobra CB.

Next came a 50" light bar. Next to doing a RE lift worst decision I made.

Next she stayed that way for a while until I installed the Colorado Flag grill. Gotta represent the best state for wheeling

Then I picked up a soft top for $125. It wasn't great but after that top I went to a smittybuilt bow less slant back top because I did get it for $300. My $125 top leaked (not because the windows were out)

At the same time I did the new smitty top I also upgraded the front axle with a S&G and 5.13 gears

Those were in preparation for these meaty 37x13.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers and you'll notice I went to cut fenders also.

Next was the late night install of an EVO 1/4 pounder and some truck lites

Most recent mod was installed after I did a wheelstand coming up hells gate. You may complain about my driving....

Great job on the build so far and not afraid to admit "I screwed the pooch" on that mod.:thumb: Totally agree CO is a great wheeling state.:yup:

Yeah. I think my 2 worst decisions were the RE lift and the 50" light bar. If I re did it I'd run the EVO Enforcer lift or the RK Flex system. And I'd run a 20" light bar. The ORFAB bumper was bomb proof but I decided I really wanted the stubby look.

Love living out here too. Super pumped to run holy cross this weekend.

I'll measure tonight but it still fits in a standard garage.

I'm curious about the height up to the bottom of the doors. When i finally get my jeep I want to put 37's on it, but my wife is about 5'6 ish and doesn't want to have to get a stool to get in it. lol. so i'm going to have to do a LCOG build with High fenders, and just wondering how much of a lift i can put on it while being in her comfort zone. Unless there are any good side steps/rockers that work well, and don't stick out or drag too much.

I think you'll be pleased with that set up

I hope so too. 4wp is willing to exchange my RE shocks so I'm leaning towards bilsteins but may do rancho rs9000's/5000's. Either way they'll be setup for a 5" lift for more down travel.

Careful with the shocks for a 5" lift on a 3.5" lift. Chances are you'll end up bottoming out the shocks under compression.

From what I've researched I should be ok. I know I can run the shocks for a 4.5" lift. Any recommendations?

Waiting on the suspension parts to all get here. The brake lines are in, rear RK springs are in. Waiting on the front springs and shocks. Finally after a month and a half my smitty seat covers came in. At $150 for the set I couldn't pass the deal up. Not the best fit but better than some others. I may drop the top and see if it's better when they're warm. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1441083531.154540.jpg
