JLU transmission heat exchanger

Has anyone had a issue with the transmission heat exchanger for the automatic JLU?


I’ve had it replaced under the the power train warranty but I’m having similar problems as before with ZF fluid leaking. It’s only been 3 months since it was replaced. I have another appointment to get it looked at coming up. I’m not seeing too many Jeepers with this issue.

not on my 2018 JLU and hope it doesn't become an issue.

Had to replace transmission lines twice on the JKU

The dealership originally thought it was the oil cooler but soon found out it was the heat exchanger the last time.

I’m thinking this is just a isolated problem and not a chronic JL issue.

The ZF fluid is a honey color fluid which is the giveaway for anyone who may have this problem.

I have a couple weeks till my appointment but I will reiterate the answers I’m able to get.
