JKU weight reduction Ideas

Looking to put MY JKU on a diet.. Looking for tips and tricks others have used. Im not sure what mine weights in at right now as it is in the shop, but I am sure it is much closer to 7k than it is to 6k.

I have recently dropped the rear bumper and went with the EVO fascia plate and a genright Alluminum tire carrier. I have a relatively light rim & tire combo considering the size. I run a very light soft top and OEM halfdoor's. I currently have PSC steel tube fenders front and rear So I know I can do something different there to lose weight.

Other Idea's? Tips?

what are you running for armor underneath?

I'm not really sure how much more weight you can lose. Yeah, you can drop some by switching to aluminum armor/fenders. But that's minor gains. Unless you switch to minimalist thoughts (drop rear seats, downsize OBA, etc.), I think the weight from the mods added is just something you'll have to accept.

I have actually been thinking about replacing the front seats, and looking for options for the rear seat, as I don't want to remove it totally, as then the dog would have to ride in the passenger seat, and the GF would just be SOL.

Here's something to ponder, you have yet to wheel your new setup. Sure, you've added some extra weight, but you've got the hp and new axle strength to make up for it. Now, put your brain between your foot and the gas pedal. Don't get me wrong, I love your show off attitude, as do others. Just wheel responsibly and you won't have the grief ridden breakdowns that take away from potential wheeling trips. You have the best Jeep in JOCCI. No one will admit it. They'll say that "this is wrong", or "that's not right" (I've said these things myself), but NO! You've addressed these issues with your latest round of mods and will now have a top tier JK. Know your limits and have fun, that's what it's all about.

PS. No offense

PPS. I've been drinking

LMAO... You drinking, NEVER....

Well I one thing that is least likely to change is the weight of my pedal foot. And I am not worried about any additional weight from my Axle swap, I have just don't to many mods in the past and not considered weight into them, and I need at this point to take a hard look at reducing where possible.

I guess to clarify I am looking to drop weight that is above suspension, not worried about below suspension.

Good! And I'll be right along side you, every chance I get, to see how it all plays out.

On topic: You use about all aspects of your JK. Sacrifices will have to be made somewhere.
