JK Ball Joint Recommendations

I do a mixture of on and off road, nothing extreme right now. I have bjs going bad, they are old Moog ones from the last owner.
I would love to hear from some people here what their experience is besides all the advertisements for this and that haha.
Are rough country fine to go with or do I need Teraflex or expensive Metalcloak. Are the more expensive ones actually worth the money?

I've used more expensive, not worth it. Synergy ball joints have served me well on the JKU's and JLU

They're pretty much all the same thing just in different packaging. I wouldn't hesitate to run them.
That's kind of what I was thinking too. Do you have to notch the C on the bottom hole on the axle for the grease fitting on the other ones or is that only a Rough Country thing (or is there a way to avoid doing that?)

no notching on Synergy, hadn't heard about having to do that with Rough Country, are you sure it's the knuckle and not the axle shaft ear?

ah for the grease adapter.
get a different grease adapter, haven't had any issues with the LockNLube
That's actually what I have too, it looks like you have no choice but to notch it to get it to fit unless the needle style end would work with it, not sure about that one.

Feel like there’s so many threads on here asking about which ball joints to buy lol. Like everyone has said they’re all pretty much the same. I went Synergy, but I would’ve been fine with any kind of factory style replacement as well. The original factory ones lasted 60k hard miles.

Is it worth spending the 350ish for Synergy ones or is it not a big enough upgrade over Rough Country or maybe even just get Moog again?

Oh wow I didn’t know they were that much now. Mine were $200 to $250 I don’t remember exactly but this was also a long time ago.

I like Synergy’s stuff in general, and I’d pay a little more to support them because they’re cool people I’ve met and wheeled with before. But for your purposes, again - any OEM equivalent or HD ball joint will do. Up to you in the end on how you want to spend your money.

I just picked up a Synergy Set from Ebay for $100. They gave me a great deal. They are the older model, but they are the warranty replacement version when they had that bad run back in 2017 and apparently they had to replace a bunch of them. I do like that Synergy fessed up to it on their website. Here's what the dealers have on the bottom of the item listings: *If you have older Synergy MFG 8009-1201 or 4120-01 ball joints that did not live up to your expectations, Synergy MFG has extended the warranty period for ball joints manufactured in 2016 and 2017 that experienced premature wear. Contact support@synergymfg.com for more info.
