Jeep won't start - high temp warning....

Hello all, I was out last night watching some of the NFL games and when I went to leave, My 2021 Rene refused to start....the starter didn't even sound like three was any effort whatsoever. Just after having the foot on break and pushing start button, the dash main screen lit up with a sort of warning about the high temperature of the coolant along with the CEL lighting up. I had been in the sportsbar for about 1.5 hours while it was also around the low 60's temps here last night. I'm thinking that maybe there was something wrong with the temp sensor and the engine didn't start out of desire to not start and run while the engine is already overheated. That makes sense to me as a way to protect itself from an idiot owner. Perhaps there was/is a faulty temp sensor? Anyone in here ever experience this or anything remotely similar?? Thanks.

For what it's worth, my 2021 was bought in October of 2021 and the current battery in it is the original factory battery. I know that these Jeeps have a habit of displaying some very odd electrical gremlins when in need of a new battery. Anyone think that might be my issue? I've been pricing a replacement battery for a while now, just haven't yet pulled the trigger on a purchase yet. TIA.

Do you have the etorque model? If you don’t have the etorque then you’ll need to test both the main and the auxiliary battery that’s under the fuse box. Just understand that you will want to replace both batteries at the same time. Eddie has a video and walk through on how to do it as well as various threads on the subject.

Thanks, but I think the Cherokee is the one with the dual batteries, from what I've read. Mine has the 1.3L turbo w/ 9speed auto.
