Is there a really a performance increase by changing tire size with JSCAN?

Recently upgraded from stock size 245/75R17 KO2 to 315/70 R17 MT Baja Boss M/T Tires

Jeep definitely felt sluggish with acceleration after the change.

Tonight I changed the tires size with JSCAN from 31.93" to 34.75", GPS test on the freeway matched speedometer @ 65. Just doing this change the Jeep feels like its running on stock size tires again, or at least in my head from a placebo effect maybe/probably who knows. Anybody else have a similar experience? Actually saw 8th gear on a downhill stretch @ 65. Not looking to regear unless I really need to. the 8 speed transmission seems to be pretty forgiving, and I've ran some moderate trails, only complaint is I don't have the transmission in 4Lo slowing down the vehicle on a downhill like it did with the stock sized tires.

The benefit from having the proper tire size plugged in is for your shift points to be where they need to be. I’m sure it effects other factory “tuning” aspects as well having the right size plugged in but shift points is the main benefit.
