Is it true, a V8 Gladiator is coming in 2026?

After reading all the comments it put things in more of a perspective. Motor size still won’t replace truck size, I’ve been wanting a Ram 2500 for a couple of years now and when I saw this coming out I thought this would be the better of both worlds but after reading y’all’s comments and looking into it more I think I’m just better off going with the Ram 2500.

The new Ram Cummins with the 8 speed is a freight train for the road.

Even with just a 6.4L, you can tow a LOT and in way more style and comfort than an overpriced mid size pickup that has a Jeep logo on it. Go all in with a Cummins and you're still way ahead.

I have a 2014 with the 6.4 and it’s been a great truck
Been looking at one with a 6.7L but Mel just has the 6.4L and I see him tow 2 built up Jeeps on a trailer all the time. Granted, it's slow going over the mountain passes but it seems to do it without too much effort.

EDIT : I misspoke, I believe Mel does have the Cummins.

I have always wanted a diesel. But, I know my lifestyle really only calls for a gasser. What I have been told is that the new diesels need to be worked hard regularly in order for all of the emissions related crap to operate properly. Commuting to and from work everyday is about the worst thing you can do to these diesels. If I do get a 3/4 ton hauler, it will likely either be a newer gasser or an old diesel that I just use for hauling.

I tow my fifth wheel with mine and it does fine. Granted it’s not a diesel but I can’t justify the cost of owning diesel for occasional towing.

This is true for the DPF system to work the truck needs to work boost pressure and heat is what cleans it. Idling a new diesel and using for groceries and short trips are no good

Just had a BMW diesel start producing some serious issues because it’s not ran hard everyday. It’s used around Big Sky (under 40mph) rather than getting up to 60mph on a regular basis to regenerate the particulate filter. Sounds retarded to me.

The engine power was significantly reduced, wouldn’t exceed 15mph climbing hills and was still slowing down by the time I got to the top. Got it “fixed” by an authorized mechanic but it still has issues. Only way to get rid of those issues is take it 6hrs away to the closest dealer.

Are we to believe that Jeep is really going to put a V8 in a Gladiator and for 2026? What do y'all think the price point will be? Than my next question is will it be able to tow a good load? Notice I didn't say haul because there's not much room to haul stuff in that bed. I just hope it's true and I hope it's affordable.

What's your thoughts?
No we will never see the v-8 factory Gladiator. The world will end before they can get it built.
