In The Shop - Disciple Off Road

Yes I’m still working on the JK with the DTD in between everything. We did the “modified” version so have been making sure everything is working like it should as things get tight fast at full bump.

I wasn’t happy with any off the shelf track bars so I’m making our own using some threaded bungs from RockJock and Johnny joints. Also had to cut up the EVO track bar bracket to move it where needed and reinforced it.

I think it stuffs pretty good!

New brackets all welded and painted up ready for final assembly.

Damn dude, do you ever wheel that thing? It's stupid clean underneath LOL

With several trips approaching, I finally made some time to do some much needed maintenance on my own JK.

The main thing I needed to do was rebuild the coilovers which quickly snowballed into tearing down the front end completely.

I’ve had some oil coming out of both tubes so decided to replace both inner seals which were toast.

I’ve had some banged up and bent control arm brackets for a while so decided to cut them off and the shock brackets while I was at it since I had the bolt on bracket for the coilovers

And since I was already at it, why not throw on a truss!

Rear got a new RockJock trac bar (was still on stock) with some other minor adjustments.
Ended up ordering new front and rear sway bar links as the front heims were done and noisy.

LOL - funny how just a "little" maintenance can turn into a crazy big job! Lookin good and lookin forward to seeing your Jeep out on the trail putting all that effort to good use.

So after pulling my front diff, I wanted to make sure my front locker was working ok and all was good. After shifting back into 2wd, my 4wd light now stays on but is in fact in 2wd. Always something!

Anyone else ever deal with this? Hoping it is just the transfer case switch that needs to be replaced.

I assume you verified that 4WD is working too?

I have not had it happen in my Jeep; however, in my Ram 2500, I had it happen twice. The first time the position switch connection most likely didn't get seated from the factory as I was able to lock the connector back together and it went away for 150+K miles. The second time I got stuck in the mud and pressure-washed the underside of the truck, after that it would randomly turn on and off. It annoyed me but not enough to fix it.
