I'm a liar!

While I don't have a build thread I have commenting off and on in other threads about components I have been gathering up. I have even started some threads to help me with the decisions like a 1310 or 1350 joined drive-shafts.

I just about have everything ready to go. (actually I have had it all laid out in my shop for weeks but it's been too damn cold to install) Anyway I am hoping mother nature lets up just a bit in the next few weeks for me to finally install everything.

For those of you who are frequent Wayalifers, you might remember me stating I will be running 35s. In some cases I even boldly added that I have no intention of ever going to 37s..... Well I'm a liar. I just ordered 37s  I stumbled on a deal that was just too good to pass up. The price was actually an error. I told the retailer I was okay with skipping the order since I didn't want to capitalize on a mistake, but they wanted to fulfill the order anyway. (In a former life I bought a crap load of parts from this retailer and they were aware of my history.)

So anyway, I ordered a set of 37" BFG KM2s. (Not only was I planning on a different size, but also not this brand.) However, at $273 ea I couldn't pass it up. The only problem now is getting them in a timely manner. It seems this tire is back-ordered just about everywhere, including where I purchased. (fingers crossed)

Maybee I shouldn't beat myself up too much. With with the way BFG tires run so small, I will still be technically still running a 35

BFG KM2's have SUPER thin sidewalls ... ask me how I know. :yup:

Yea, I've seen the result of this too. It's actually the bigger reason I wasn't planning on running them. The price was just at a point that I was willing to take a gamble. The other tire I was looking at was a MTR/K and they aren't exactly known for sidewall strength either.

In general I think this is a trade-off of having a lighter tire which is important to me. (At least at the moment)

37" km2

The 37x12.5R17 KM2's are supposed to go back in to production the last week of February. Hopefully they will start shipping them the first or 2nd week of March.

This is good info, upsetting, but good.:grayno: I am supposed to pick them up at the store on Feb 26th. They claim they will have them on the 15th. This is not the type of tire that they normally carry so I'm a little worried about their information accuracy. I am in town where the store is located the week of the 26th so I was planning on picking them up to save on shipping. (They are about 3.5 hours away.) I have a wheeling trip on March 8th. My Jeep will look a little funny with 3.5" of lift, and flat fenders running 32s

I can't believe you lie to us! Lol
Can I have your 35s :cheesy:

I don't have 35s... I'm still rockin' the stockers and a leveling kit  I think I'm finally going to catch a break in the weather over the next few weekends to install my lift, which will make me look a bit silly if the tires don't make it. At least my face will match my Jeep on the odd looks. (I figured I'd jab at myself before you guys had the chance :bleh: )

This is from Treaddepot (unless its a typo).

Wow... That can't be right. I'd believe a little smaller, but 35ish? That's gotta be a type-o. I went back and double checked Tirerack.com & the BFG site, they both claim actual size at 36.8". I'd be curious what the real diameter is when they show up.

Overall diameter 34.9? Lol

I just spoke with my BFG rep and he confirmed my post. But they have been telling me the same thing on the 35X12.5R18's I have been waiting on since August last year... I LOVE BFG and it's the only dual purpose off-road tire I will run but man it seems like they only build enough tires to fill back orders and none for stock.

Doesn't that seem like false advertising. I find it funny how they can market a tire as a 37" but in reality it is actually 34.9. I know that tires arnt true to size but c'mon 2". Seems like a lot.

Edit
Upon further review the actual tire size is actually 36.8 not so bad after all.
