I guess it's the "Super Stocker" build

In case anyone is wondering, here's the extent of the "damage" to the trimmed fender flare I smashed yesterday.

I have no clue why some people put metal aftermarket fenders on a JK. An old CJ rubbed fenders with me, pretty good, on Imogene Pass, and you could hardly tell it.

I chopped mine but the wife bought me some as a present. I was kind of obligated to put them on at that point. I don't mind them but I am extra careful now.

I still haven't edited the video, but the guy spotting me has aftermarket metal fenders. I told him why I cut my plastic instead of doing the same as him a few months ago. In the video, you can hear him tell me I'm going to hit the fender and a few others starting to react, almost shocked I kept going. Then the spotter says, "It's ok. They are plastic." Two broken clips and what you see in the pic is the result. So glad to have learned about doing that, here on WAL.

Were you on the Telluride side going up before the little tunnel? That part is ridiculously tight to pass by someone. It's one of my favorite trails. [emoji16]

I should have the necessary time and materials this weekend to get my winch mounted. Hoping for good weather and plenty of smooth sailing! :yup:

I mentioned in another post how much I dislike my local UPS. Well, they did it again. My vac pump relocation was supposed to arrive today, but it's been in Phoenix for two days now. When I messaged them I was told "winter storms are delaying shipments". Last time I looked, there is zero snow/ice between Phoenix and my house and the high was 76 there today. [emoji849]

That blows. I try to remind myself how blessed and fortunate I am, but when my Jeep parts are delayed, I get really pissed off too. Especially when I've scheduled time to do the project.

Coming down the first hill, from the pass, towards Telluride. I kept waiting for them to start up, and they just stood around talking. When I got a third of the way down, they started up.

A highly modded Jeep passed me easily, near the tunnel, and a rental Jeep right behind him, rubbed my soft top with his hard top. He could have moved over another foot and a half.

After seeing that happen. Why would you buy an aftermarket set of fenders? I haven't cut mine yet, but I sled into a tree on my left rear and you can barely tell.

Cut fenders is the way to go at no cost to you, just your time in cutting them the way you want. :thumb:

That was my plan, to get to work in the morning. Maybe I will anyway. I can get the factory bracket shaved off. If not, I have Sunday set aside, all day long.

Edit: It now shows the bracket is rescheduled for delivery by 8pm tomorrow. At least I can hope it'll be delivered in time to install this weekend.

Exactly what uberc4 said. Even if you mess up it's easy to find unpainted factory flares for cheap or even free.

What's up dude. I see your still at it. How's the jeep treating you? I see the bumper turned out great

Ha ha! Yes, still at it. Thanks! I have a lot of fab work to do on the bumper Sunday to get that beautiful, new Warn mounted. Time permitting I may even add some tube gussets to the stinger. I have some 1" left over from the doors.

How's things for you?

Same here dude. Still have a broke ass jeep from my last off-road experience. So now everyone laughs at me cause I'm driving a 2wd jeep until I can get a 44 to put in there. It sucks lol. With Christmas right here, the kids took all my money. So no axle for daddy this holiday season lol

I get the kids thing. Sucks about your Jeep. Hopefully the New Year will bring you a new axle!!!

Yep, so far mine are good.

I did get the factory bracket cutoff and the EVO vac pump bracket installed. Gotta go grab a hole saw tonight to help with setting my fairlead hole in the front bumper.
