Hey from PA

I'm new to Jeep builds but not the Jeep brand. Started in '94 with an XJ and followed a few vehicles later with another XJ, a '98. Both were purchased new. The first, a Sport 2dr, off the showroom floor. The second was special ordered, also a 2dr. The second one was rolled, quite unexpectedly, and was replaced with an '02 JGC Overland. Still have the Overland but it's long in the tooth, 2" OME and some JKS parts. I never modified, with the exception of tires, until I got the Overland. It took a long time to do anything other than tires with the '02, it is so capable as is.

This brings me to JKs, or Wranglers in general. I have always wanted one, just couldn't justify it for my needs. That's changed, finally.

I placed an order and it currently sits on paper in "Production Scheduled". Nothing special, Sport S, 2dr, half doors, engine heater, tow pkg, slush mats, tinted windows, 3.73, TrakLok and smoker's group(wanted the power outlet).

I feel that waiting to build until it's been used up a bit(years) will deprive me of some of, what has to be, the best part of Wrangler ownership...the build.

So, the build has already begun in my head. I've scoured countless websites, forums and picked my friend's brains. That has eventually led me here to sign up cuz, y'all have a special member in Majik, who's on a quest for which I am direly interested...Big Brakes.

Without further ado, I'm off to that thread.

Thanks for having me.
Fred.

P.S. WELCOME TO WAYALIFE FRED...I got a little carried away when I saw the state college post.:standing wave:

Welcome to the addiction known as Wranglers. :clap2: As soon as you get yours, better start looking into a trip out to Rausch Creek. I know that's what I'm doing.

Thanks for the Welcomes.
I'm kinda central PA, Bloomsburg.
Trevorton and Shamokin have been wheeled prior to the new AOAA stepping in. I'm sure the experience will be ruined by their babysitting. Pretty much every rule takes away from what used to be a good thing. The locals damn sure don't like it.
I can see the whole area going the way of Paragon once it starts drawing dollar interest.

Cool man! Thanks for the linky! :D Its always nice to find areas to explore in PA :D

If you get there, stop off on the west side of Trevorton and look at the coal hill. My WJ climbed it to the top. It did take a couple warm-up tries but, still, the WJ made it = awesome.
Buggies have no problem, Quads and MX bikes take a couple warm-up attempts; if that's any indication of the difficulty.

Hey, beans, don't you guys have some kind of annual rally/fest/jamboree?

Sure do! :D Butler PA is like the Home of Jeeps--there are 1000's that show up every year :D :D Last year I think there were 1,557 registered Jeeps from 31 states and Canada. I think last year (or maybe before) they broke the guiness book for the longest Jeep parade lol. We don't live there but its not that far to drive and way worth it!

Here's the website!

This year will be June 13th -14th it's an AWESOME thing to see...just rows, upon rows, of Jeeps!! I'll post a reminder the Event Section some time in April on the forums to give anyone a heads up if there isn't one posted before! :) It would be EPIC to have a bunch of us all there!!!

Edit:
I'll post sooner than that....there's a Jeep registration deadline :)
